Chatrapati Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur, the son of Late Karveer Hutamata Chatrapati Chauthe Shivaji Maharaj, was a source of inspiration which was established in 1918. The institution runs 7 Senior Colleges, one law college, one Management Institute, one college of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, One Engineering College, One D.T.Ed. College, 24 Junior Colleges, 48 Highschools, 4 Primary Schools, 13 Hostels and 11 English Medium Schools.
The main object of institution is to impart quality education to the economically backward, downtrodden and weaker sections of the society irrespective of the caste, creed, sex and religion. The growth of the institution during the past 98 years is a noteworthy with its motto “Tejo Si Tejo Me Dehi”.
Shahu maharaj donated grants in 1918 for building of Maratha Borading in memory of Karveer Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj IV who was humiliated and assassinated in the Ahmednagar fort by the British and cremated on the site opposite to this educational Complex. Growth of the institute in the past 98 years is consistent with its motto “Tejo Si Tejo Me Dehi”.
The college has campus admeasuring 25 acres with specious buildings containing adequate facilities.
